Privacy Policy
eKool takes the protection of personal data and your privacy very seriously. To make the use of eKool safe for you we communicate this Privacy Policy to our employees as well as to all persons responsible for the administration of eKool in schools.
- Information we use
- In order to acquire general user statistics on the eKool website we use the Google Analytics service that follows the Privacy Policy of Google. We also collect contact information from persons who contact us.
- eKool is divided into two parts: public and restricted. Only authenticated users with valid authorisations have access to the restricted section of the website. A user may be authenticated by various methods which may require sending user credentials to a third party which provides the authentication service. After logon we collect information about the user, his or her IP address and on-site activities.
- Information collected by schools
- An overwhelming amount of data stored by the eKool environment is maintained by schools that use eKool for the processing and sharing of study-related information and some personal data with various user groups. The amount and nature of the collected information depends on the work organisation of schools and valid legislations. Schools may forward certain personal and study-related data to third parties, for example final grades and attendance information to the education department of the local government or to the Ministry of Education and Research.
- eKool provides a software service. The entry and processing of data as well as the distribution of access rights is the responsibility of schools. Although eKool allows sharing of information with various parties, such activities require the consent of the school.
- How we use the collected information
- We use the information collected on the website to analyse the web traffic and identify the users.
- On the restricted section of our website we collect general statistical information which we may also share with third parties. We do not collect, sell or forward any personal or contact information, except in cases referred to in the following paragraph.
- Disclosure of information
- In certain cases provided by law we may be required to disclose personal data. We may also share personal data and additional information on our own initiative if we deem it necessary for the avoidance of a violation of law or the Terms of Service.
- Upon entry of false data in your profile, for example a false e-mail address, you may make your account accessible to the person whose data you have entered. To avoid any misunderstandings, please check the authenticity of your personal data.
- Technologies used
- The use of eKool requires enabling of cookies in your computer, allowing the system to remember the session and assisting the navigation on the website. We work hard to protect eKool from unauthorised access to the information contained in eKool or unauthorised changing, disclosure or corruption thereof. For that purpose we also use SSL to encrypt the data exchange, ensuring secure transfer of data from your computer to the eKool server.
- Changes
- The Privacy Policy of eKool changes together with the Internet, which is why we need to revise it from time to time. We inform the administrators and support persons of all schools using the eKool environment of such revisions by e-mail or send a respective message in the eKool environment.
- Questions
- If you have questions or concerns about the Privacy Policy of eKool or a possible violation of your privacy then please contact us by e-mail address privacy@ekool.eu.
